Raytheon Tubes

My childhood memory is full of experiences with my Dad and brothers in scenes populated with these little guys. As an electronics engineer, Dad fixed TVs and radio equipment on the side. Many parts like these tubes were all over his workspace in our basement, which was next to where our bedroom was located. My dad spent hours teaching me about electronics and I'm afraid much of what he taught was too over my head for me to remember, but I wanted to learn it.

This little rendering project is an homage to those days. I'm not sure Raytheon ever made 12AX7 tubes (which are still common guitar pre-amp tubes) but I actually use guitar amp tubes, so they are the subject of this little project. I interviewed with Raytheon a few years ago and created this little scene then. As Nacho Libre would say.... "Eeets for fun!"

"It's all tubes these days Merl!"
